Exploring an unknown aspect of the tradition of sailor songs, Capitaine Etc. is a Francophone Music band from Geneva, Switzerland, that draws its influences from various musical genres, such as rock, folk, blues, jazz, classical music… but also from literary and poetic texts, embarking with its audience on a rather unusual journey, towards undiscovered oceans. For it is a journey we are talking about… of going to sea, raising anchor and hoisting the sails, allowing ourselves to drift away to the far off and wonderful islands of human fantasies.
Week 5 of Semester 2 will thus be a week of journeys and wonders, with February seeing the coming of the captain and his crew to Birmingham! They will be performing in four different live venues across town, so be sure you don’t miss out!
12/02: Ort Café, Moseley.
13/02: Spotted Dog, Digbeth
14/02: Urban Coffee Company, Church Street, City Centre
15/02: Le Truc Restaurant, City Centre
Moreover, there will be a little surprise if you stay around campus on Wednesday 11 February, so stay tuned!
