Sunday 12th January saw the 71st annual Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills California. Whilst many watched to discover who would be awarded with the prestigious accolade, what we’re interested in, are the dresses!
Let’s start the proceedings with Emma Watson’s amazing Christian Dior backless dress. From the front this dress seems conservative and also a little boring, but from the back, it’s genius! Plus it’s in this season’s hottest colour: red.
Most Incredible Dress/Complexion combo goes to Lupita Nyong’o in this incredible caped Ralph Lauren dress.
Taylor Swift looked incredible in this strapless Carolina Herrera pink and black number.
Fellow Brit Michelle Dockery looked sublime in this nude, embellished Oscar de la Renta number. The subtle dipped hem revealing nude pointed heels adds an extra flair to the already gorgeous dress. Michelle is showing pale girls everywhere that you can actually rock pastels and look gorgeous!
My personal favourite out of the Girls cast, Allison Williams, went for an edgier style than normal, and boy did it pay off! This monochrome Alexander McQueen is unusual but somehow works!
This Zac Posen dress is most certainly one of my favourites. Sofia Vergara knows how to work a plain black dress and added a statement necklace to contrast the simplicity of the dress.
Of all the mummies-to-be, Olivia Wilde wowed in this Gucci full length sequin dress. Although at first it may seem an odd choice, Olivia has embraced the bump and is showing it off as much as possible.
Last, but by no means least we come to my absolute favourite of the night; Kate Beckinsale. This Zuhair Murad fishtail dress, with enough embellishment to last Cinderella a life time, is absolutely gorgeous.
