Would you be interested in getting a student job which for once relates to your studies? G-Connexion is the name of the brilliant new company launched by two young French women, Emma Palluy and Laurie Vayssade that enables you to do just that! The two management graduates have decided to make this dream come true in Grenoble in October 2011 after they grew tired of only finding student jobs as cashiers in superstores or waitresses in fast-food restaurants.
The innovative company aims to enable students to apply their competencies in their professional field. The idea is simple; small businesses sometimes have specific needs and cannot often afford to hire someone to create a website, to translate a contract, to work out a communication plan or carry out market research. G-Connexion puts these companies in touch with post-graduate students who are willing and able to work for them. The students are meticulously selected according to several criteria: CV, lecturer’s recommendations, motivation, and the companies to save time on recruitment, and there is no need for them to pay extortionately. G-connexion’s students get to be as good as if they were in self-employment which means that they avoid the taxation that they would have to pay if they used temporary employment agencies.
Everyone’s a winner! Students can earn money, gain experience and increase their professional network, and companies can save a considerable amount of time and money. I think that this idea is an interesting way to boost little businesses, and students motivation at the same time.
